Choosing a Hand Extrusion Welder: Weldy EX2 vs EX3 vs EX3 Plus
Weldy’s Booster range covers three hand extruders that look similar but suit different workloads. Having supplied all three across the UAE, here is the practical difference.
The quick answer
- Booster EX2 — compact and lighter duty: 2.5 kg/h output, 6.4 kg, 500 mm long. For occasional repairs, small patches and tight spaces.
- Booster EX3 — the best-seller: 3.4 kg/h, 6.9 kg. 36% more output than the EX2 for a small price difference; the default choice for lining crews and workshops.
- Booster EX3 Plus — the premium version of the EX3 platform, built for continuous heavy-duty fabrication where the machine runs most of the day.
What they share
All three run 230 V / 3000 W, feed ø 3 or ø 4 mm welding rod, process HD-PE, LD-PE, LLD-PE and PP, and ship as complete kits — transport case, welding shoe, spare carbon brushes and brass brush. All carry CE conformity.

Don’t forget consumables
